Prayer Matters

God loves to speak with us. As Christians, we believe that Jesus has made it possible for us to have a real and active relationship with God – and it’s pretty hard to have a relationship with someone you never speak to. The Bible invites us to bring our thoughts, feelings and circumstances before God and to listen for His voice of comfort, instruction and guidance.

On this page you’ll find links to prayer resources, ways that you can request prayer, and details of when and where we’re meeting to pray together so that you can come along and take part. If you’re here looking for something specific, use the links opposite to jump straight to the section you’d like.

Prayer Resources

Whether you’re wondering how to start praying, or want to go deeper in your existing prayer life, we’ve done our best to assemble a few resources. From Sunday Messages, to shorter devotional videos and testimonies of what prayer can do – we hope these will help you understand, pursue and enjoy prayer more.

Request Prayer

We don’t just pray for ourselves. We believe that prayer changes things, and there are times when we all need other people to rally round and pray on our behalf. By praying we offer encouragement and demonstrate God’s love while asking him to intervene in someone’s situation. At the King’s Church we offer several different ways for you to request prayer – whether you’re a member here, or just looking for some help. From specific in-person appointments to anonymous requests, the forms below enable anyone and everyone to ask for the kind of prayer they need.

Encounter Prayer

Sometimes, we want to spend a little longer in the quietness of God’s presence where we can talk to, encounter and receive from Him. As we take time to be still we can become more aware of his loving presence and the different ways in which he may respond through his Holy Spirit. Our Encounter Prayer Team provide space and opportunity for you to bring your requests before God.

Sessions are available to book throughout the week at a convenient time for you.

Prophetic Encouragement

We all need strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Our prophetic encouragement sessions aim to do just that; helping you to draw closer to God through the Holy Spirit. The sessions are not intended to be directional, but focus upon building up, cheering up and filling up our hearts and minds with the truth of what God wants to speak over us.

Sessions are available to book every third Sunday of the month, before our regular morning service.

Remote Prayer

God hears us when we pray, encouraging us to bring our worries, fears and requests to Him. At King’s we love to offer prayer to anyone who needs it. Anyone is free to come and receive prayer in person, either on a Sunday or by booking one of the appointments above. However, we know that not everybody who needs prayer feels comfortable or able to receive it in person. So, we’ve created this form for you to request prayer remotely.

To do so, simply fill in as much, or as little, of the form opposite as you feel comfortable with – you don’t even need to give a name if you don’t want to. We will then pass the request onto our prayer team, who will pray for the situation.

Join us in prayer!

Whenever we pray, it is a precious opportunity to encounter our amazing God, share what’s on our hearts and minds with Him, and listen for what He wants to say to us. While we encourage all members of The King’s Church Chesham to pray individually as part of their daily lives, we also believe it is vital for us to share in times of prayer together, so that we can speak to and hear God as a community.

From regular weekly gatherings to one-off moments of prayer and worship, there are plenty of opportunities to join us as we pray together at TKCC.
