Space

SPACE is for parents of children with ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, or challenging behaviour. Founded in 2005 by members of our Church, it has since blossomed into a thriving parental support group. Although not run by TKCC, we think SPACE is brilliant and some of our members remain involved.

SPACE meets monthly to chat, laugh, and listen as we support and encourage each other. Our desire is to empower parents through choices, signposting and directing them to useful resources.

Our informal meetings offer a safe, friendly place for families to share some of the difficulties they face. Many have found it a lifeline as they share their stories in an accepting, non-judgemental atmosphere, and receive information and support from people who understand what they are going through. At the coffee mornings we usually have speakers, bringing specific knowledge on relevant topics. Parents are also able to bring their own ideas and solutions to help support each other. We also have some evening meetings.

We are always pleased to welcome new families to any of our meetings, as we know how difficult it can be caring for these children and helping them to reach their full potential. If you would like to know more, don’t hesitate to contact us using the details below.

For further support, we have a library of relevant books, a Voicemail Helpline (07960 066632), and an email address (spacechesham@aol.com) where anyone can ask for support with these special children in mind. Those who become members are invited to join us on Facebook. For details of our next meetings do check our website.
