Space

ABOUT US:

SPACE is for parents of children with ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, or challenging behaviour. Founded in 2005 by members of our Church, it has since blossomed into a thriving parental support group. Although no longer run by TKCC, we think SPACE is brilliant and some of our members remain involved.

Our informal meetings offer a safe, friendly place for families to share some of the difficulties they face. Many have found it a lifeline as they share their stories in an accepting, non-judgemental atmosphere, and receive information and support from people who understand what they are going through. At the coffee mornings we usually have speakers, bringing specific knowledge on relevant topics. Parents are also able to bring their own ideas and solutions to help support each other.

We are always pleased to welcome new families to any of our meetings, as we know how difficult it can be caring for these children and helping them to reach their full potential. Our desire is to empower parents through choices, signposting and directing them to useful resources.

Where to find us:

SPACE meets monthly to chat, laugh, and listen as we support and encourage each other – usually on the morning of the third Wednesday in the month. We also occasionally have some evening meetings.
We now meet at Trinity Christian Community Centre, Red Lion Street, Chesham, HP5 1EZ.

GET IN TOUCH:

For further support, we have a library of relevant books and an email address where anyone can ask for support with these special children in mind. Those who become members are invited to join us on Facebook.
