The Alpha course is now world famous as a proven introduction to the Christian faith. Covering all the main topics of faith, this 12 week course is held in a warm, friendly, ask-any-question-you-like environment, with the added pleasure of a wonderful meal (or pastries if it’s a daytime course).
It’s an opportunity for anyone to explore Christianity in a relaxed, low key, friendly and fun environment. It’s a place where people can make friends, ask questions, delve into issues and look for answers.
We’re planning to run an Alpha course in Autumn 2018 and would love to hear from you if you’re interested in joining us. Please call the office on 01494 792814 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How does it work?
Meeting together weekly we start with refreshments and a chance to chat. This is followed by a talk looking at the topic for the evening, topics such as “Who is Jesus?”, “How can we have faith?”, “Does God heal today?” After the talk we divide into small groups for a time of discussion.
There are 14 sessions in all; it takes about 12 weeks to do the whole course with the option of a whole day spent together in the middle.
Who is it for?
Alpha is for anyone but especially for those wanting to investigate the Christian faith, new Christians, newcomers to church, and anyone wanting to brush up on the basics.
Everyone is welcome, no question is out of bounds, you are free to discuss and explore as much or as little as you want.
What will it cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha course although you may make a contribution to the cost of food if you would like to.
Do I have to sign up for the whole course?
You don’t have to sign up for the whole course, just come for the first session and see what you think.
